Right upon arriving to London, my friend Christine suggested that we check out the RA Summer Exhibition (12 June — 19 August 2018). I really love this exhibition because it includes both world-renowned contemporary artists and emerging new talents. It was super delightful, and packed with works – every time I looked at a wall I would notice a new peace. Some were cheeky, some were political, and some were just ridiculously fun (like a rug bear or a giant Pink Panther); but the reminder I went home with is to just not take life too seriously. All the works in the show are for sale and it raises money for the art school within the RA.

My father was visiting me in London this summer and we were walking around Hyde Park and came across Christo and Jeanne-Claude's London Mastaba at Serpentine Lake. I missed The Floating Piers in Lake Iseo, Italy (2016), so I was delighted to stumble upon this grand temporary floating sculpture.

Christo discusses the exhibition of the artists' work at the Serpentine Gallery, which draws upon their use of barrels to create artworks and The London Mastaba, Serpentine Lake, Hyde Park 2016 - 2018, a temporary floating sculpture on The Serpentine lake.

Meet Sophia Chew, my Opera singing, skincare junkie, bundle of joy. We enjoyed catching up over a cup of tea over at 20th Century Café in Hayes Valley, which may or may not be the cutest café in San Francisco. If you ever go there, make sure to get the bagel with smoked salmon or avocado, and one of their seasonal pastries.
